Simple Skin Care Routine to Clear Your Skin!

Hello everyone!
Today we are getting into how to design your skincare routine to achieve your skin goals! Over the years, we have tried many different products to treat various skin issues and this routine is a great template to customize for your personal skin needs. Many products can take months to fully show their effects on your skin so be patient!
Let’s get into the routine!
1. CLEANSE
Dampen your face with lukewarm water, bordering on cool. This keeps the skin calm and reduces inflammation. Currently, Corsx Low pH Cleanser is our favourite cleanser! Just add a pea-sized amount to your palms and then work this into your face for AT LEAST one minute. The 60-second cleansing technique is life-changing. Here is a detailed video about the benefits of cleansing for 60 seconds. After this, rinse with lukewarm water and pat your face dry with a designated face towel.
All of the time, you do not need to wash your face in the morning! (Gasp! Crazy, we know!) Washing your face with water is enough as long as you haven’t used retinol the night before. Skincare does not always have to be elaborate to be effective!

2. TONER
We will say this first. Toners are not necessary. Most toners act to prep the skin by dampening it to allow you to better absorb your subsequent products. Most of the time, this action can be replicated by softly patting your face with warm water and applying your next product. For natural girls, a spritz of rose water all over your face after cleansing is great for the added anti-inflammatory properties.

3. SERUM
Next, apply a daytime serum to address your skincare needs. Paula’s Choice 10% Azelaic Acid Booster is great for getting a beautiful glow to your skin. We love this serum/ treatment because it is super lightweight but has great ingredients that combat acne and hyperpigmentation.

4. (Optional) SPOT TREATMENT
If needed, you can apply a spot treatment for acne, redness, or some daytime eye cream.

5. MOISTURIZE
It’s okay to be pretty boring with moisturizers! We like to pack our “metaphorical” punch in the serum or treatment and seal it off with a basic moisturizer. We like Cetaphil, which most of you may have heard of- it is a great moisturizer that is dermatologist recommended. If you have sensitive skin, this is definitely for you.

6. SUNSCREEN
Always, always, always wear sunscreen when you leave the house! This is one of the most important parts of skincare! The sunscreen should be at least SPF 30 or higher. Wearing sunscreen is beneficial for us now and when we get age. It helps protect hyperpigmentation from getting darker, reduces the UVA penetration which causes wrinkles, and sunspots, and is linked with skin cancer. So, always remember to wear sunscreen on any part of your body exposed to sunlight.

Following this routine consistently should bring your skin goals to fruition! Of course, you need to consume enough water daily and eat a balanced and nutritious diet.
